A Launch Story
Client: Vizcom: Introducing Modify
Role: Motion Director
Background
Vizcom is an AI design platform, the tool industrial designers use to turn sketches into rendered concepts in seconds. For the launch of Modify, their biggest feature release, they needed a film that could introduce four new capabilities at once and make the product's fluidity feel like the star.
They brought me on to direct it.
Problem
Vizcom was launching Modify, a new feature that lets designers reimagine concepts into new views, variations, expressions, and materials, all from a single image.
Challenge
Communicate four distinct capabilities in one film without it feeling like a feature checklist. The launch needed to feel as fluid and playful as the product itself.
Approach
I directed and animated the launch film around a single idea, iteration shouldn't feel like starting over. Each of Modify's four modes was given its own visual beat, with motion that morphed and transformed rather than cut, mirroring how the product reimagines a concept rather than rebuilding it. One continuous visual language, four clear messages.
Results
The launch film significantly outperformed Vizcom's typical product announcements:
-
1,023 reactions: roughly 17x a typical launch post
-
38 comments: about 6x the usual
-
65 reposts: driving the launch well beyond Vizcom's owned audience
